Sheep, cattle & horses

Cattles, horses and sheep graze the undulating grassland that comprises the majority of the estate. The lime rich shallow soils do not produce high yielding grass varieties but support a wide range of fauna, flora and insects.

Rotation of the animals takes place throughout the year to ensure both to prevent over or under-grazing. Thus year-round grazing can be assured on the estate.

Sheep always follow our horses to make best use of each animal’s grazing preferences as well as managing parasite control with minimum chemical inputs.
